Internal petrol heater

Post by piersoc »

Hello. I have an imported from Germany 1984 T25 Westfalia with an interior petrol heater. Would anyone know what sort of heater it might be? It seems to be quite basic - a green twist knob under the dash, and a hot air vent where the driver's cab steps down to the living quarters. The motor whirrs but only cold air comes out. Any ideas where I could get it serviced? Many thanks.

Eberspächer B2L? No one will touch them as there are no spares for them any more. DIY job I'm afraid. Check out the wiki ^^^ https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ca ... berspacher
I have the manuals if you need them.

If it was factory fit it was an Eberspächer BA6.

They were in Type 2 s in the '70s mainly though. And they were not mounted in the interior.
Have the manual for that if that is what you have. (Definitely no spares for those oldsters though)

Thanks very much to you all for replying. It all sounds a bit dismal and servicing it well beyond my capabilities.

It would be better to identify what you have in there first - put up a picture and we will go from there. It may have anything put in there in the last 30 years. May not even be an Eberspächer.

Could you give me an idea where I get to this unit? Is it from inside the cab? Is there a panel under the matting? Thanks for the help.

Is that in the middle of the driver's cab or the middle of the living bit? Thanks

To which model are you referring? We still don't know what make of heater is fitted even let alone the model.
There are no spares for BA6 or B2L Eberspächers listed in the price lists. If it is a Webasto there may be slightly more chance depending upon the model - could be a HL18B or newer.
