After the birth of our son it has become clear that we will need a trailer on the rear of our 1.9dg tin top.
I've seen some for sale on eBay.
How difficult are they to fit?
Does anyone have any tips on both the electrics aspect and fitting it to the chassis.
Thanks in advance

Re: Tow bar
Sorry,
The above should have asked about fitting the tow bar, not trailer.

Re: Tow bar
Hi, I fitted one to my camper and I was surprised how easy it was.
The towbar I fitted fitted using the chassis mounts that the rear bumper brackets use. We have two young boys and found taking a trailer was the only option when on holiday.

Thanks maddogsT25.
So is it just a case of taking the bumper off, fitting the towbar and putting the bumper back on?
What make of towbar did you use and how were the electrics fitted?

Re: Tow bar
I'm not sure of the make of my towbar as I bought it secondhand.
Basically you remove the bumper then the brackets that are bolted to the chassis then the towbar brackets replace the bumper brackets. Bolt the main towbar to the brackets and the bumper then bolts to the towbar.
The electrics were quite simple to fit as the loom is easily accessible. I am only in oldham if you want to come and have a look at how they fit, I have two campers with tow bars fitted. One with std metal bumpers and one with big bumpers.

Re: Tow bar
Thanks mate, that's a kind offer.
I will take you up on the offer as I've paid a fortune to get a tow bar fitted to the car and like to do the work on the van myself.
I'll pm you over the next couple of days.
