Clutch Choice

Post by minilawz »

I am wondering if anyone can help and hope it not stupid question, not sure which replaced clutch i should buy.
I have a 1.9 watercooled DG engine with 5 speed gearbox and was wondering if i should be buying a 228mm or 215mm clutch kit?
i think its the 228mm part but wanted to purchase before i start the job so not 100% sure.
Thanks in advance Lawrence

Depends on the age very early DG's had a 215mm latter 228mm and after 20 odd years if has not got the original engine it could have either.

This is something that intrigues me. I've seen about people replacing clutches for larger heavier duty ones to cope with extra power etc. What is it that actually dictates what clutch size to use?
