t25 4 speed gearbox fault

Post by Dynamite-dindin »

hi all hope everyone had a good xmas.

been out working on the van today trying to sort out the gears as was unable to select any gear, so I stripped down the entire gear linkage and cleaned and re greased put back together and carried out adjustments.

tested can get 1st 3rd 4th and reverse gears but unable to get 2nd gear . you move gearstick to 2nd and it just crunches but doesn't engage even with engine of cannot select 2nd.

anyone have any ideas what could be the fault.

many thanks
Danny

i have found it simpler to mark the rod along the split and end of the couplin and move it slightly.

it should only need minute adjustment , ie one spline either way.

remove all the old grease from the complete linkage including the ball and cup and make sure all contact surfaces are smooth , including cup and ball!
