bell housing

Post by fatpasty »

on the bell housing of my 1.6 deisel there is a circular hole just to the right of the starter motor. It's about 2 inches in diameter and is threaded. I can see the teeth on the flywheel through it, I assume he should be something screwed into it, but what?

Usually has a big plastic plug in it, its for doing cam/pump timing. If you look down the hole you can see a little metal notch, this is to line up the flywheel. :ok

As long as you don't poke your finger into it with the engine running you will be fine....seen it done...messy.
