Relays & fuses behind glove box

Post by Tufty_B »

What are the relays/fuses behind glove box for, I can't find any mention in the Bentley or Haynes manuals (I have 5 relays and 2 fuses)?

Thanks but I'm looking for details on a fuse/panel behind the glovebox (LHD) on the offside, not the main fuse/panel.

Yup. The answer is in your van details ie 'custom'. Someone has added this for some reason.

I'm sure I read somewhere about a factory fit extra relay or two behind glovebox
Does it look like factory wiring?

VW did put auxilary fuse and relays on the right under the dash. Criuse control on UK models is there but it doesn't look like that.
It looks like it might be for a Webasto water heater usually accompanied by an extra green light on the dash.

Thanks, when I have some spare time I'll have to check out what they are connected to and see what fails to work when pulled out.

I think that these might be the heater booster relays and fuses because that has 5 relays and 2 fuses (Bentley 82.18).

I'm in the process of replacing the heater motor so when I get the heater box loose I should be able to see where the wires link to and confirm if this is correct or not.
