I'm looking at upping the security on my '88 high top Autosleeper.
A tracking device seems to be a good idea in theory, but surely any thief worth their salt would just have a jammer? Or is it just a case of the more levels of security the better?
This one caught my eye, which at £250 for the equipment and 2 years subscription included and only £25 per year thereafter seems good value for money. If it indeed works!
Is this or any other tracking system is 'worth' the outlay? Should I look at getting this in conjunction with an alarm/immobiliser? I already have a sturdy steering lock.
Any thoughts gratefully received. Thanks

To be honest for a purely GPS solution thats quite expensive, mine does all that and cost me £50 and just needs a mobile sim card in it.
It is true they can be detected and sometimes blocked (but it can be hit and miss apparently), my understanding is its the VHF ones that are less open to blocking.

I was under the impression pinpoint uses GPS and mobile networks - it mentions both on their website, but the copy is a little vague for sure
£250 is for the equipment including two years subscription - is that expensive?? Other systems I've looked at (in my admittedly undetailed research so far!) mostly seem to cost hundreds for the equipment plus the monthly fees.
What system is it that you have? It sounds a bargain at £50!

GPS is how it knows where it is.
GSM is how it tells you where it is.

My tk103 (I think) are now about 35quid and do the same GPS and GSM. All controlled via text message. Can even be setup to kill the engine remotely, text you if the door opens and be used as an alarm. Quite feature packed. Works a charm, biggest challenge is hiding the wires etc.
Gps signal will also go trough plastic and to a degree wood meaning they are not too hard to hide.

Thanks, that seems like the perfect solution and way less than I was expecting to shell out.
