Price match at Halfrauds

I've never been a fan but on a Sunday I was left with no option but to use them for a replacement battery on my daughters Vauxhall Tigra 2006 Twin Top. Halfords 56ah HB075 costs £69.99 my TRADE CARD took it down to a more reasonable £53.00 which I had reluctantly resigned myself to paying BUT with a little GOOGLING I found that Euro Car Parts have a cheap crappy 'LION' brand (same 075 size) at just £40.34

To my amazement and without any argument, question or even checking, MR Halfrauds man just said...'yeah! no problem, we price match' and £40.34 was the price.....£30.00 saving What the blithering heck
OK.....not a S4 Bosch but at 40 squid and a no quibble 3 year guarantee I'm not complaining.

Halford batteries are made by Johnson Controls the makers of Vartar and Bosch batteries.

I knew the supplying brand was one of the 'big' battery manufacturers but didn't know which.
Despite the constant put downs, which are usually about customer service and extortionate prices, there is no doubt that their parts are all main brand quality...Therefore, if the price is right you have the added convenience of accessing hundreds of stores throughout the country.
Mine was through necessity (break down on a Sunday) and the battery is performing very well, spinning the engine over like a wurling dervish, even this morning in sub zero temperatures.

Whilst I'm sure everyone has a story to tell about halfords, and for that matter most other stores. But Halfords have done away with giving their shareholders dividend, and investing the money in overhauling their stores and better customer interaction.
I for one have invested in their shares and to date have make over £1 a share, so it must be working

I nearly always fit Halfords batteries to other peoples vehicles. They may cost a bit more but they are made by the best names in the business, (Lucas Yuasa are the other supplier), another name not to be sniffed at, but if they do have a failure they can be exchanged generally without any hassle at another Halfords anywhere in the country and at weekends.
