AUTOCHEM UNIVERSAL BLUE ANTIFREEZE 1L
Hi
Can someone please tell me if this antifreeze is ok for my water cooled T25 diesel 1.6 turbo engine? It's on the GSF site and after putting all of my info in it comes up with this one as being suitable http://www.gsfcarparts.com/976aa0200" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it's not G12+ but this seems to have all of the anti corrosion properties that as far as I can tell is the main reason for buying specific antifreeze.
Cheers
Stu

Europarts have the 5 year pink G12+ (triple QX) for about the same price?
Does need a good system flush to get rid of the blue antifreeze, apparently they dont mix well.

Thanks!
My rear heater burst and emptied out all of the water...obviously I blocked the pipe and filled it back up with water so I'm not actually sure what was in there previously. Once I drain that water do you think I need to flush it out again? I think it was the green antifreeze from what I could tell.

Yes!
there is about 18 litres in the system and it doesnt drain well coz of all the twists and turns in the system.
Bit of a pain but do check the Wiki and other posts coz the bleeding can be a cow - but once its done its good!
Im assuming the system is similar to the 1.9 petrol, except for the engine connections of course.

Ok Rob!
Just seems the 5 year lifespan for same price as 2 year makes sense?

Ooops.Deleted my reply. As I said oilburners can take any antifreeze as they don't have alloy heads like waterboxers.

Re: AUTOCHEM UNIVERSAL BLUE ANTIFREEZE 1L
The critical difference being....wasserboxer head studs are submerged in coolant where as Diesels head bolts aren't. It's the rusting and swelling of those head studs on the wasserboxer engines that require a strong 50:50 mix with regular changes to keep them in check..
