That's for the non power steering clamp which is much thinner than the beefy UJ for power steering, you reckon they are the same?

They make no indication except to say that the uj was used with power steering. I would use the same torque and use threadlock for peace of mind. They are just used to clamp onto the splines on the uj aren't they?

Yeah, it's fairly thick metal so I would have thought it needed more to clamp the splines, I'm probably fussing too much, hopefully Simon will get back over the road and tell me how he sets them.

much thinner than the beefy UJ for power steering, you reckon they are the same

but the bolts are the same size

the torque will refer to the bolt max tigtness before it stretches/ over tigtens surely ?

That's the correct answer.

I've not got a clamp for a non power steering to compare but from the diagrams it looks in bentley like thinner material on the non-PS which gave me the impression it was the clamp that deformed to engage the splines. Anyway 20NM it is. Thanks for your help.
