starter bush

hi , I know this is a really silly question to all of you who know these vans back to front , when removing the starter motor bush , is it removed from the starter side or from the back of the housing cheers gary

You can do it with the gearbox on so id say remove it from the starter side but possibly dosent matter if gearbox off
If the box is on stick some rags on the hole so you don't drop in into the bellhousing
