Hi All,
I'd like to fit a reversing camera system, but unsure of the best way to route all the electrics.. Anyone done this successfully and willing to share some photos and tips?
Cheers,
Biggles

Better to fit a dashcam with front & rear facing cams. That way you not only have a view when reversing, you have a record of any incidents on the road for insurance purposes. Look up 'dashcam' via the search box - loads of info there.

Thanks for the advice, however... It would appear all the info on this has been deleted from the forum and archive so back to square one..

Re: HOW TO FIT A REVERSING CAMERA..?
I went the dashcam route and it works well, I've got the front camera & screen unit next to the rear view mirror, and the reverse camera stuck to the top of the tailgate window.
To power the camera, it's plugged into a multi-12v socket which I keep in the glove box and plug in as required, so there's simply one cable going to the ciggi lighter on the dash. Then I simply ran the power cable out of the existing gap on the glovebox on the passenger side near the door hinge, and tucked it into the windscreen rubber all the way to the camera & screen unit.
The reverse cable is pretty small, similar to a headphone cable, and indeed it uses the same 3.5mm jacks if you need to extend it. I'm lucky enough that I've got curtain rails most of the way round on the passenger side, so I loosened these off, tucked the cable in from the top, and then tightened them back up - voila, the cable routed nicely all the way to the back nice and tidy! Then I've simply gathered the excess cable up with a tie where I could hide it best, and left enough slack so that when I open the tailgate the cable's not pulled tight.
Works a treat, took me a couple of hours to do properly, not bad for £30
Now I've got a GPS tracker to do the same with, think that's going to be a whole lot more fun!
E D I T: this is the one I went for, was a bit cheaper than this though when I got it:

That model works well but worth bearing in mind that the screen size means (if you normally need reading glasses) that you'll need to pop them on if you actually need to view screen. For most, that model is just a method of recording - which it does brilliantly. I think if I were wanting to use it as reversing cam, I'd look for a better dashcam or something you could output to a 7" tablet which lets face it, are really cheap these days. I bought three tablets for £168 recently. You also have the advantage then (particularly if it has GPS) to use a free satnav app and its handy for other things when you're out and about including TV, games etc. Multifunction is always a better bet as you only need the one gadget then.

Re: HOW TO FIT A REVERSING CAMERA..?
I fitted mine using bits & pieces from e-bay. The mirror / display clips over the original rear-view mirror. I've wired it so I manually switch it on when needed. I think it could be wired to come on with the ignition if you wanted it on all the time. The display is reflective so acts like a normal mirror when the display is off. I only switch it on for parking. The camera is a bullet type that works well in day-light but struggles a bit at night. I screwed it to the plastic surround of the rear light and ran the cables through the camper's units to the front foot-well. It's not the tidiest install but it works for me.
