Distributor question

Hi guys, changing my 1.6 ct to 2.0 cu, bought an engine years ag and had it tested by Aircooled garage & afte being stored 6 years it started amazing! However he did give me a list if things to do and parts required. One of the issues was the distributor wasn't working so thought I'd buy a new one, however just campers do not sell a direct replacement so can only sell me the type 2 part which does away with the election ingition and goes back to the old point system which I know absolutely nothing about. Does anyone know where I can get hold of. Direct replacement part? Or can I get mine reconditioned? Thanks

Plenty of 043 SVDA distributors on the market..

Fully mechanical (points and condenser), or electronic..

Get a kit (dizzy , coil and leads)

Try Simon BBC on a well known auction site..

Get the bits.. and then I can show you how to set up..
