Hi all
Does the 1.7 diesel have hydrologic tappers
Or are the adjustable
Part of my service schedule

These have shims that require regular checks and adjustment (swapping out of shims to attain the correct clearance)
0.2 - 0.3mm inlet
0.4 - 0.5mm exhaust (engine hot)
You can tell which engines are solid shim tappets by virtue of the cam cover having a row of 6mm studs/nuts all the way around, hydraulic have just two on top.
There aren't many garages that can do this as special tools and spare shims are needed. However, this adjustment is extremely important for reliabilty and performance.
