Re: ht ignition lead set
Hi there,
I know several owners 'including myself' who have had issues with the length of the leads supplied by GSF....where the longest lead wasn't long enough and the king lead too long.
BERU sets tend to be the best quality and match original quality (BRICKWERKS supply this brand)
Personally, after I had a 'second' lead failure (one of the new leads from GSF) I resorted to making a set from scratch with supplied components from 'THE GREEN SPARK PLUG COMPANY' they trade on ebay quite a bit.
I used Lucas Hypalon high quality tinned copper lead, straight NGK spark plug caps and re-used fittings from my old set of leads.
Note* many of the 'break down' problems associated with these leads are caused by the high voltage tracking to ground through the metal shrouds on the spark plug caps . These shields can be cut off without detrement, to cure many of the common issues.

Re: ht ignition lead set
We stock the Beru components.

King lead should have a resistance of 2000 ohms, 1K each end.
Spark plu leads should have a resistance of 6000 ohms, 5k at the spark plug connector, 1 k at the 90° end.

Re: ht ignition lead set
Nice to see that Simon is now stocking all the individual HT lead components as well as the full sets...good if you just want to repair a lead rather than fit a new set.
As I said earlier....the metal shrouds on these plug caps are the usual culprit for misfire/break down issues......I would be inclined to fit quality NGK caps instead...and yes, they do have the same resistance minus the end cap so don't interfere with your granny's telly.
Infact, having experienced a couple of ingnition lead failures myself on my own wasserboxer, I would recommend changing the plug caps for these NGK type INSTEAD of replacing the complete lead set.
