Gti conversion fuel line issues

Post by daddyjim »

Hi folks,

My van has a golf gti engine in it, this was done before I brought it, the problem is the fuel line now is very long and you have to prime it loads of times before it will start to get fuel to the engine. Does it have to be this long or is this something that can be sorted.
Cheers
James

reads like you have a leak in the line
if the fuel is running back to the tank it must be pulling air in somewhere

or the fuel pump is shagged

So it's nothing to do with how long the fuel line is then, this is just what the guy who sold it to me said and I know nothing about engines and stuff like that.

length has nothing to do with it

I assume it's an electric pump?
If the pump isn't priming then it's got air in the line or the pump is not up to it

What Brother Kev said :ok

Once they are primed/full that's it.

What pump are you using?

Any running issues/ other symptoms? Could be FPR but this would manifest itself in a whole host of other issues but I guess you would have mentioned them :ok
