battery terminal corrosion

hi everyone tried to start van this morning and got the clicking noise and sparking at the earth at the battery.noticed there was white corrosion around the battery connector so changed the connector and put spare battery on fired up straight away.now this corrosion around the battery keeps coming back after a couple of weeks even when i clean it off.any ideas to stop this coming back,cheers dave :ok

I was always told that Vaseline was good to stop this.

Agreed ^^^ but to be honest the white corrosion doesn't usually prevent your battery from starting the van. Obviously it's best to clean and smear the Vaseline to prevent it, but my guess is your battery is poorly. Let "us" know if you need to know how to test it.
