mechanic rang said he done a test on the head
with a tester kit of some sort
and its coming up negative
meaning its not the head
he is know going through the electrics
and getting a hair dyer on to the distributor to see if there is any cracks

procedure for a suspect cap is to fit a new one (less than a tenner) :wink:

Hey Ghost! Sorry to be slow in replying, but I got the tank from Brickwerks. The original VW part no.is 025 121 407A but VW replaced it with 025 121 407 B. Other companies have a "replacement" but it is not the same configuration. (For the record I have a 1990 T25 1.9 water cooled Transporter.) I did not replace the cap.

That's a very low price on the Red G12+


Also noticed that they are now selling the Purple G13 ... works out at quite a lot more money tho..

£24.68 for 16 litres of ready mix....not too bad I suppose.

Is it true that the "buzzer of death" (i.e. the oil pressure alarm) also kicks in if the coolant level is too low?
