AAZ fuel pump on a JX

So, some of you may have seen the thread I started about my leaking pump on my JX. I went ahead and bought a 'JX' pump which actually turns out to be off an AAZ. Has anyone actually done this?

I've had it fitted, and the engine does run, but overfuelling like a goodun. Any advice? Short of getting hold of another fuel pump - I've already spent £180 on this and can't really afford any more!

Is it worth trying to get the old JX pump rebuilt?

An update, Apparently it's not an AAZ pump, it's off a CY engine (which apparently is a Passat 1.6TD) so should be OK! Now just looking at the details of the pump to see why it's overfuelling.

Has the protective cap been removed from the fuelling adjustment screw - if so someone has been playing with it and set it to overfuel.

There is someone on this forum who rebuilds diesel pumps, and will mail them out, he is very cheap, tho I don't know what his name is.

Sounds promising, but I'll see how it goes with this one first I think (really don't want to pay for someone else to replace the pump again!).
