how to wire up a towbar single electric?
hi there. I am fitting a towbar and I would be grateful to find out how to fit a single electric socket or what is the standard and easiest way to do it? many thanks.

Going to have to cut into the existing wires some like soldering I prefer crimp connectors loaded with petrolium jelly
Most don't reccomend scotchlocks

thanks for that itchyfeet. can you recommend a decent point of entry on the van for patching in?
if I patched into the point of entry of the light socket I could save cutting into the loom?

all the cabling is in the junction box.
I broke into the loom(s) and soldered in the appropriate wires.

is a 4ft 6 board with 6m of cable too wide and too much cable for a moped and rack? or is that wide enough as the lights on the van and not too cumbersome? also can 6m of cable just be wrapped around the trailer board?

are the wires screwed into the junction box? if so I could unscrew and screw in with the additional wires from socket.

No they are plugs.
dash loom meets lights loom..and they meet in the junction box
it's so you can't attach the wrong wires together.. for the hard of thinking I would imagine

The Haynes has all the wire colours and the corresponding lights
you'll find all the colours in the box
and none are repeated except brown (earth)
it'll be tight with blocks..neater with solder

Re: how to wire up a towbar single electric?
1, take tow bar cable to junction box
2, Open the box.
3, Identify coresponding colours to lamps. (ilustrated in the Haynes)
4, bare and cut the wire starting with the brake light
5, bare the coresponding wire on the tow bar cable

6, Solder them together and insulate.
7, work your way around the plug (shown) joining all the wires up in the junction box.
