Kickdown Lever snapped? Fitting Accelerator cable

Post by myklb »

Hi, like many others I have a very stiff throttle pedal, bought a new cable (RHD Auto 2.0 Petrol) When attempting to fit it to the kick down lever the nipple snapped off...nightmare. Any ideas where I can buy a new kick down lever? They don't seem to exist anywhere. Even ebay. Worried. If theres no new ones any ideas of 'creative' ways around it.

Any ideas?

is it the nipple that the cap/dome thing on the cable clips onto ? if so I had this happen to mine, I levered the old one off and it snapped off the lever, what I did was drill it out and fit one of those nipples things that tailgate shocks clip onto , they're threaded so put a nut on the back just file it down till the cap fits over it .

Small chocbloc? Done up tight? They always worked on broken heat exchanger cables on Beetles....
