trouble purchasing an alternator

Post by project25 »

Hi, I am having problems getting an alternator for my 1.9 DG. The one Volkspares came up with and everything else when I returned it, has the wrong pulley on the front. My pulley is flush with the cooling fan, but all the replacements have an extended pulley about 30mm out from the fan. VW Heritage said they are all like that and you will have to change over the pulley!

I bought one recently from my local Motor Factors and they kindly swapped the pulley wheel over for me there and then and it fitted straight in.
Was cheaper than any I could find online and was good quality part.
Hope this helps.
