I hadn't considered Molyslip - I'll look into that. Some bits of the linkage are new, and most bits were lubricated when the box was put back in, but I haven't looked at the bits under the floor at the gear stick end. I'm quite happy with the gear change now (it's amazing how much difference it makes to the enjoyment of driving it), but it's tempting to chase perfection. The issue with reverse is, I've realised, just the detent spring, and I guess that's just how they are.
