Sliding Door Question

Post by nsclarke65 »

Hello All,

Sorry this question has probably been asked hundreds of times but after hours of searching on the internet i still can't find my answer!

I have recently bought a 1982 T25/3 to restore in quite good condition, however, the sliding door has no bottom left on it at all and i thought i would replace this rather than trying to weld in repair panels. I thought this wouldn't be a problem to replace but how wrong i was!!! I didn't know there was two types of doors and can't find an early type door.

HELP

1, Does anyone have a early door for sale
2, Can anyone let me know what the difference is between the two doors? 3, Is there any way that a later type door will fit on my van?

Thank You
Nigel

The early to late can be done but it's too much hassle.
Ask on the wanted, I did abot two months ago and got two offers....
Dont expect your shade and colour but one will probably come up ......
<84 early, >84 late, not sure of change over month though.
lhd........

Thank you for the replies, going to put up a wanted ad for the door, however and this main seem mental! I'm going to hold out for a couple of weeks for an early door and if i don't get one i'm going to buy one of the many late doors i've been offered, cut it in half and try a barn door conversion!

I know this is probably a crazy idea but i done a 3 year college course on welding, panel beating and spraying (This was 12 years ago but it's all in there somewhere) and i've seen one done before so it's not impossible.
