Seatbelt mounting bolts?

Post by richlaz »

Does anybody know the size of the seatbelt mounting bolts?

I need two for my front seatbelt receivers (at the moment I have aftermarket seats, and the receivers are bolted to the seat itself) - there's threaded inserts the bolts are supposed to screw into, in the side of the battery boxes.

The bolts look like M10 size, but an M10 bolt is very loose in the hole (and with a bit of wiggling pulls right out), therefore is unsuitable.

I compared the M10 to one of my other seatbelt bolts, and the M10 thread is slightly smaller in diameter (by approx. half a mm) so I don't think they're metric.

I thought that it could possibly be 3/8" (but that is around 9.5mm, which is even smaller again).

Worst case scenario... I'll have to drill a (extra) hole in the side of the battery boxes, and fit a nut on the inside, but I don't really want to drill extra holes unless it's a very last option :(
