1Z Engine advise

Post by MaddogsT25 »

I am looking for some advise for a replacement engine for my camper. If it is on here already then I apologise but I have been reading other threads and not got all my answers.
My issue is my camper has a 1.7 KY engine fitted that is beyond repair. I have been offered a 1996 1Z engine without ECU. Is that not worth getting as I read that you need the ECU to match the engine or can this be got round as I am not bothered about the immobiliser.
Any help or advise would be appreciated. Cheers

As long as its the right ecu it will work with any engine, the ecu just has to be paired with the immob (which is dead easy)
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

Or there's a guy on ebay who will delete the immobiliser from a later ecu. Had one off him and it works fine. P.M. me if you want more details.
1982 was 2ltr a/c then 1.9d 5spd, now 1.9tdi with passat box. Reimo pop top.
