Vanagon syndrome or not Vanagon syndrome help

A couple of years ago Steve ( Gasure) sorted my syndrome and very happy I was too, it now seems to have returned .. Is this possible or should I look at another possible cause of ignition cut out, failing to re start followed by re start like nothing had happened.
Any help would be welcome as we are planning a week away next week

I had my fill of the 2.1 with the decaying electrics There's so much to go wrong and the only way to test some of it is by swapping out. I have a genuine vag loom that cures vanagon syndrome somewhere you can have it on sale or return £40. But there is a raft of tests to try in bentley, but another likely candidate is the airflow meter, can give fluctuating results if the tracks are worn you need an alalogue meter to test it. Maybe have a word with steve to find out what he did to fix it last time. if MV lamda probe can return spurious information to the primitive 'brain'. Sorry I cant be more help, it was exactly these sort of problems that convinced me to go diesel.

I love this power unit its responsive and pulls well but these flakey electrics are a little bit irritating........ steve is a wizzard and i am going to ask for his help too.

My flooding/cutting out was cured by re-gapping the throttle valve microswitch. Easy to check and easy to cure - which is why I left it till last after going through everything else over several days.

My DJ had just this intermittent fault. Would start and drive perfectly then just die .. Leave a few mins and carry on as if nothing was wrong . Or.. Would be driving fine stop somewhere and refuse to restart/ almost start but take no throttle. Turned out to be the ignition module thing on the Ali plate by the coil and/or the throttle micro switch so replaced both and all is well again 3 yrs on

If memory serves this only addresses throttle extremes, only an issue driving off road or like a loon on the road.

How very dare you!!

The microswitch operates at accelerator pedal fully off and fully closed. It was failing to operate in the fully off position and was over fuelling causing intermittent flooding.

If it happens again and you have a lambda probe fitted,,,,,pull the connection off the lambda and drive it without it for a while and then refit it,,,,,worked for me.

Hi Hacksaw Bob, do you still have the AFM loom adaptor. My new 2,1 dj Is displaying these symptoms. I would fit the capacitor myself but the van is in Devon at a garage and I'm in London.
