Tailgate strut replacement
I've just come into possession of a 1983 panel van in fairly alright condition- however the gas powered tailgate struts need replacing. To save a bit of cash i'd rather do this one myself but i'm not entirely sure how. Any tips?

Re: Tailgate strut replacement
I'm sure someone not too long since did a "how to"
On this matter . Do a search using the search bit at the top of the screen. If you can't find it , order a pair and then just look how the old ones are fitted. This has got to be one of the easiest jobs to do on the T25 . Go for it , Daz

Re: Tailgate strut replacement
Open tailgate
prop it up with length of wood.
Remove crclip from gas strut with suitable tool.
Thump gas strut off the pin .
Unclip from the top fixing.
Fit new strut, reverse procedure
Then do the othr side.
if it takes more than ten minutes in total, you are doing something wrong !
