Fair comment, MM. I was just attempting to clear up some of the confusion when you hear people trot out the old "all MOT repairs must be continuously seam welded" misunderstanding.
Brilliant comments in your subsequent posts, by the way. You have to wonder how some of these "professionals" can sleep at night, or whether they get any real satisfaction from what they do. Admittedly, not everyone is as much of an artist as you are, but why bother if they're not going to do the job properly? And, because they don't document the work under the surface, like you do, it's only when the dreaded brown stuff starts breaking through the shiny paint in a couple of years that anyone's the wiser. Shocking, really.
