Subaru expert needed.

Post by bradders89 »

Subaru ej20 n/a.

Just driving home from work and suddenly had the oil warning light and the battery warning light come on but dim ish and goes off while on Rickover. The fuel pump has started making a wining noise (more than usuall) and there is a eggy smell I presume coming from the battery's? It runs, drives and sounds fine. Battery's fine and there's plenty of oil. Error code comes up as 12 starter switch (cold start circuit) anyone have a clue what it is or how to sort it?

Sounds like they are connected to the alternator charging incorrectly - have you checked the output? Egg smell is usually overcharging/boiling battery, battery light possibly brushes/regulator unit.Fuel pump, possibly wrong voltage due to alternator.
Oil warning? Not connected to alternator, but who knows.

Put a metre on it earlier and it's reading 19.8 volts! Think that answers the question! :?

I reckon it will be closer to 100 cm or 39.37 inches than a voltage.
