T25 Newbie

Post by Brighton Dubber »

Hi,

I have recently bought my first T25 VW after 10 years of deliberating and trying to talk myself out of it. I started wanted a splitty until I resigned myself to a bay before finally seeing the beauty of the T25 and bought one unseen from ebay for £5200.

It seems in great condition, she is a 1990 Holdsworth right hand drive ,totally solid body work with hardly any rust and a hightop roof. She has been converted from a 1600 automatic into a 5 speed 2 litre deisel and runs like a dream (so far).

I imagine I will be spending a lot of time on this forum over the coming years with various questions as I am a complete novice but keen to learn and do things myself. My first question is regarding the hightop as there has been a leak in the past which has made me a little paranoid as I want to reupholster inside this winter ready for next years festival season. Whats the best products for cleaning the fibreglass and repairing any cracks? Also where the roof meets the gutter it is full of a type of resin and I wanted to know what the best way to maintain and repair this would be to insure against future leaks. Thanks in advance!
