Hi top gutter join help

Post by xpertbert »

Hello all. My t25 high was restored 2 years ago. I have a few tiny cracks on the seal were the high top joins the gutter part of the bus. Is there any water proof compound I can fill with then re paint by hand, it's not seen unless your on step ladders. Just don't want it to get worse. Only had her over a week. Gave Mabel a full day of cleaning inside and out. :D

If it is a holdsworth it will have been done at the vw factory,so shouldn't be to bad.

oh dear , i wouldnt use the word restored???
those gutters are full of sealant and the gutters them selves look very suspect, a few more picks would help ,
showing more length and from a tiny bit further away, front end and rear

:( , I will post some more tomorrow, wasn't sealant used on the gutters when converted. I didn't notice these bits till I gave her a good wash and polish at the weekend. I think that close looks worse than what it is. Well I hope so. I'm gonna go to town and post all the bad bits. I can't afford to pay someone to do these bits as all my money went on the camper. I'm handy so can learn quick with some sound advice. Cheers

Holdsworth used factory high roof vans.

Dehler roofs mount on the same way as the factory ones.

Take a look at Metal Mickey's 'Voltswagen' Dehler roof thread for what horrors could potentially be lurking in there

Oh  Oh
you will have very little left under that lot,the "restorer" :rofl choose to fill the gutter with sealant, you can see the wave in the osr part and there are signs elswwhere,
my advice is to leave alone for now, as yopu will not like what you find and winter is coming this weekend

There must be a lot like this out there. I'm finding the water will just sit the now instead of running across the gutter. Would it be better to fill more with a fall to allow water to fall off. I suppose I will have a lot of this type of stuff :-))))))
