hi i have a 1.6 td westy joker, the problem i have is the fuel gauge moves to a certain point and just sits there, it used to work and now i just cannot trust the reading ( and yes i know the fuel moves around in the tank lol). i put a tenner worth of diesel in the other other day, the needle just fluctuates. the oil light used to work now does not but, what i have noticed when i put my finger on the Resistor and push there is a faint glow of the led could it be a bad connection maybe. any help appreciated

If you put a tenner in it has most probably clogged it up! I would check that you don't clog up your pipes also. Whatever possessed you to put a tenner in it?

Is it still possible to buy £10's worth of fuel? I thought the minimum amount was 2 litres!
ok just smoke coming from the second resistor from the right
it looks as if it goes to earth correct me if i am wrong. could that be a bad earth or a short somewhere, basically the 22 ohm resistor keeps burning out.
ok so tonight i changed the resistor the oil light now works. ok so i tried a different dash pod on to night the water temp light just flashes, this did this every time i put the ignition on, the light has stopped working altogether now. the fuel gauge does exactly the same as the other dash pod, could it be a dodgy connection on the sender unit
ok so i have tested the voltage reg, tested with the ignition on and on leg A i got about 7ish volts, turned ignition off go no voltage at all. ok so i tested lilac black wire on the connector block again i got about 7 volts/ i did test the voltage regulator with the van on tick over i got 13/14 volts in and about 11/12 volts out, i have done a continuity test on some of the pcb tracks all seems ok,
Putting it bluntly - that soldering is a right pig's ear - the leads look as though they are shorted to each other, left one appears to have a poor connection, there is no heat sink placed under the tab of the chip either.
lol this voltage stabilizer has now been changed as the legs had been broken hence the soldering job looked a bit dodgy, it now looks like this the connectors on the plastic circuit are broken
i am gonna slip a little heat sink under the fet, test voltage stabilizer i have 13.80volts in and about 10.17 volts out. the voltage seems a little high. ok so i just fitted another speedo pod on and the gauge still sits in the middle, i did drop the fuel tank a while ago and took sender gauge out and had a look at it all seemed ok, am just wondering if i have put it back in the right place.
