Light problem

Post by jpee »

Hi All.

1980 1.9 watercooled.

Hi All.

Hope someone can shed some light on this issue. When I turn headlights on (ignition off) no lights, but blue highbeam indicator on. Flash highbeam and side lights flash. Turn on ignition, blue high beam indicator stays on and wont switch off and no headlights at all. Checked fuses and bulbs both OK. New steering column multi switch?
Never sure where I'm going till i get there.

Clean up the earth crowns on the 'A' pillar above the fusebox before you start ripping stuff apart. You'd be surprised how many faults can be a result of bad connections there. May not cure it, but it might and it cartainly won't do any harm
