Petrol expansion tank removal

Post by baj25 »

I tried to remove my expansion tanks yesterday to have a shufty at what lurks behind. Undid M8 nut as per Haynes easy enough, pulled and tugged a bit but tanks wouldn't come off. Hoses were left connected in case that matters. The front of the tank that is held in place by the nut wouldn't drop down even with nut removed. Any tips? While I think about it, all the flex braided hoses are just pushed on, none have fuel clips- is that normal? TIA Bri

they seem a tight fit.

just brute force!

you should not break one.

see if you can pry the tab down that goes around the stud (m8 nut you undid)

seems like making work to me. have a look at the other side of the panal they fit to , prob carpet glued over it, but cant see you reasoning to take them off,
yes those hoses are not carrying fuel , just a bit of vapour hence push fit.
