Hi mate
I Spoke with HarryMann about this subject and he said 700degC(Pre-turbo) was a safe max
and that max has never let me down in 3 years of towing, pulling hard and heavy.
I fueled the engine accordingly to just under the 700 when pulling its hardest and have never had any issues
so youre well under (if that is a manifold temp at max load) .
Have you extended the probe wires, if so, have you used the correct matched wire for the probe?

That is a good point about extended cabling Nick, and shouldn't be any solder joints either.

Thanks both, recent readings have been closer to 600c...will check with a millivolt meter in the engine compartment to see if there is much voltage difference [ Ill get my daughter to drive while I check].

Cheers Harryman,it does creep up a bit on long [Spanish] hills but drops down to 450c as soon as I select third gear, ive got one of those cheep gauge setups from that guy in Scotland, very responsive though ,drops down to 250 as soon as I come off the power!?.

After a long steep assent I'm hitting 650-700, temps drop down to 200 on the over run decent,
thats in my Syncro 1Z MTDi
The 2wd AFN has no gauge installed as yet, so cant be sure how its performing.
Will be fitting one soon as finances allow, or if she takes her eye off the account maybe sooner.
So were those temps pre turbo?

yeah pre-turbo,i've replaced my repaired lda actuator with a new one from "Brickwerks" it seems to have a weaker return spring in it,so I might get fuel increase earlier..so a bit more power lower down the rev range.
