Interesting, that is the state mine in and the speed of depreciation seems to have increased in the past 6 months,

As such, I am starting to repair mine now.

Grind/sand back the rusty bits, you may be surprised at just how little there is to repair. It doesn't look too bad from the photos, just a little seam rash.

It's one of those things, it's probably mot-able for a few more years. But above the jacking points front and rear looks like you wont have much left if you start digging. So unless you want big holes in your van, i'd leave it be until you have the money to fix it.

Hmmmmm. less grind back there is precious little steel there as it is so dont go removi ng much more.but................. you wont do much harm as its well gone inside from what im seeing, to get a bit more out of it then dig it out as best you can and carry on back together with it, if and when you or a.n.other sorts it then very little you do will hinder subsequent repairs, just dont go near anything with silicone sealant..

It actually failed MOT in Feb due to corrosion at the front of the rear arch - suspected cause was the damp insulation someone stuffed in there.

Trouble is, with these vans being what they are, I don't want to pour a load of cash into it if it won't be worth much more once done. It's a complete folly for me really! That said, you do get attached to these old things.

'well gone inside' - do you mean it's likely to be awful behind the panels inside? How major a job would it be to make it solid again? Really have no idea of the time these things take.

like you said, you wont make it perfect nor is there a need to, just keep it legal and respectable looking, agree no point pouring money in when you could put it to another van, i know the intention is not to recoup all expenditure so better to spend a little and be prepared to cut and run.
the fridge side panal has already bhad someone play with and fit an over panal so that will not have been done right i doubt, the os B post is well shot and the jp will be gone, osr arm mount and jp will not be happy, again someone has beat you to it and been in there so dont expect niceness
lower rear 1/4 are blebbing and if as you say the arch was shot before then this is indicative of more work elewhere, sorry but you did ask
