Use JX sump bolts that came off or your AAZ ones, both the same.

Standard JX sump gasket or you can use the AAZ one if you trim it. No part numbers needed , just ask by engine code :ok

I thought that standard bolts were 16mm and ones for use with the windage tray/gasket were 22mm?

For a JX? Bolts have changed part number to allow for a rubber gasket and the AAZ tin sump is thinner so bolts are to short for the ally sump with any gaskets...vw have the correct bolts, with integral washers and dacromet coating.

Correct, if you're using the windage tray you need the longer ones...

NB. Pick out cack then chase all thread holes out thoroughly and carefully, esp. those up near the engine interface and the long through bolts from bellhousing. Make sure those bolts are the correct length too (run them up in the sump loosely to check )
And note the assembly order ~ insert but do not tighten the through-bolts until the sump is pulled up to the block flange by the smaller set-screws.

Also note that the (later) longer set-screws for the JX ally sump using a windage tray gasket may have torx heads.
Clean & check the sump for cracks

The fiber gasket was superseded by a rubber one...not a windage plate as such but still thicker...that's why the bolts have change part no...also if you have p/s some are longer still for the bracket...only 3 or 4 though..
