Precautionary KSeal?
Hi chaps, ever since buying my 1.9 wbx I've been reading horror stories of leaking heads and other such cooling related disasters. It got me wondering if it might be prudent (or even effective) to add a bottle of KSeal when my coolant is flushed? Has anyone done this? I've had success with this to fix an old Jeep XJ diesel so I know it does work in the right conditions.

Re: Precautionary KSeal?
Hi,
I wouldn't myself.
I popped a bottle in whilst I had a leak, but it did nothing to stop the leak. However, it did coat variuos bits on the inside of my engine with copper residue (i know this as the engine is now being rebuilt, in part to fix said leak!) I'm a little concerned over what the inside of the radiator now looks like though...
Keep your coolant topped up wit the correct anti-freeze, and deal with a leak when (or possibly even if) it appears!
If you need a hand with anything in the future I'm also in Chester (about 5 mins from eth station).
Cheers,
Alex

Don't, bother. It can cause more problems than good. If the engine does end up with a leak then try it, until that day comes I wouldn't bother.

Interesting, thanks for the replies chaps. I'd read people had used it in the 1.9s but only as a fix and never a pre-emptive thing.
Alex - thanks for the advice and offer of help. Where are you? I'm just around the corner from the Zoo.
Jim - sounds fair enough. Could you pm directions when you get a min too? See you Saturday

Cheers Rob. Best left until I actually NEED to give it a go then
On the subject of Dalek caps - I noticed that my header tank doesnt have a Dalek cap but rather a metal cap. I've googled the part number and it does indeed seem to be an early T25 tank, but does anyone have one the same or know when they changed over?
These water cooled engines are far more complex than the Aircooled I'm used to
