I'll start from the begining...
6 years ago I bought this pile of poo

I had a very 'cheap & cheerful' respray and my dad and I rebuilt the interior using odd bits of wood from ikea bargain corner. Most of it was laminated woodchip. It was 100% better than before, but not the best. Over the years it has had changes made but started to look tired; the wardrobe doors we used for worktops had cracked, the front bit of wood had a chunk missing and the drivers seat was falling to bits.

Bodywork wise, it didn't actually look that bad, however there was evidence of rust around the windows, along seams, bottom of drivers door and the sliding door. But I don't think either of us imagined it would be as bad as it turned out to be!! Once the wheels are on & I've finished faffing with the interior i'll finish this thread. Thanks for all the kind comments, its been hard work over the last couple of months but so, so worth it. We're really lucky that between us we have the skills to take on such a job!

I made that awning, sadly after constant use over the last 6 years it is no longer...the pole snapped and the thread I'd used to sew it up with had more or less disintegrated but its served me well!!

Re: Minty Van is getting a facelift!
99% there...the white walls were a complete fail due to not fitting them properly, replacements have been ordered but haven't come, the sink still needs plumbing and the 240v leccy wiring in.
Nigel is a bit disappointed with the 50mm lowering springs, he was hoping for a much lower look, but it'll have to stay as it is for now because we've run out of money!!!
Today its been mopped, cleaned & waxed and is looking lovely & shiny...now packed up ready for Busfest

And of course, I had to have matching cutlery & kettle

Looks fantastic - particularly like the new 'throne' covering - great colour scheme all round. Can't wait for a good old nosey round at Busfest. Safe journey.

I would love to know a few more details on how your bloke did some of the panels on your van. About to start the same project with ours.
