Thermostat for 2.0l Aircooled

Post by paulandchez »

Hi all

My engine doesn't have any thermostat fitted, but has all the tinware and flaps etc. I'd like to fit one so it works like VW intended but clearly you can't just buy them these days. However, I seem to remember reading somewhere that you can fit one from another model (Mexican beetle springs to mind for some weird reason) but I can't for the life of me find the info on any search etc.

Can one of you please put me out of my misery and give me a link or something to the info.....or tell me it was a crazy T25 dream :D

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul, you might try here: http://www.ratwell.com/technical/Thermostats.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or look at the details on type2.com.
Doesn't go into swaps, but the rest of the info is good.

Heritage do the original type for Beetle engines they are easy to modify for 2.0l. Unscrew the threaded end push the cable through then refit.

Same movement but opens at a 10 deg C lower temperature.
