Many Thanks John - the pictures do make it look a lot better than she is as you can't really see the blemishes where work is required, but that said she certainly is much more presentable.

With regards to the double glazed windows, i machine polished these as well using a very fine cut polish. As an alternative, i believe some chaps have used good old Brasso with really good results:

Thanks for reply and link 300, I'll get the Brasso 'n polish out...... and try it on a window I don't look out of very often

Haha, Cheers Pionte! If any of you chaps need some pointers - just give us a holler. You really need a machine to sort out the swirls out scratches but can still obtain good results without one and just by using good old fashioned elbow grease

unfortunately my van's paint is shot.... dont know what it is painted in but when I got it 5 years ago it was very shiny, with a glitter effect. But over the years it has become very dull and flat , and dirt seems to get right into the paint, as though the lacquer has warn away.

I have decided that a total respray and rust cut out is required... in a few years when I can afford it !

I do love your vans paint ! worth all your effort.

Well yesterday really, Finally finished the 3 part process that 300CE recommended







Certainly made a massive difference & proved to me that you can poilsh a Toad
Also gave me a chance to see quite how many dents & scuffs & dodgy paintwork the Toads got! Sure is warty in places

Anyway a big thank you to 300CE

wow , what a difference ! I will have a good read through your posts to see what advice you gave him ! I wish I liked washing and polishing cars,but I hate it, i would rather take the engine out than wash it .... but I do like shiny

Yeah, it can be quite monotonous and I have to be in the right frame of mind to do it to stop getting bored - i find listening to your favourite tunes why your doing it helps - but its a great sense of satisfaction once its done! Also, once the polishing and waxing has been finished, it's literally a case if just washing it thereon (& rewaxing every few months or 6 monthly depending on the wax).
