Need new windscreen - should i replace seal?

I've got a crack in the windscreen so am going to need to get it replace... should I buy a new seal and get the glass fitter to use that instead of the original? I've not had any problems with the original seal but wonder whether i might as well replace it ... or are the originals better?

And if i should change it... where's a good place to get one...
