My family has used this place for 25 years- millway garage in seaton sluice. I had my van in there last year for some brakes work (i popped out the cylinders, woops) and they also pressed in new lower ball joints to my stubs for me with no hassles. very accomodating guys, and love working on old vehicles. They're not VW 'specialists', but certainly know their stuff. might be worth checking out if you can get over to the coast...

I use r p woods in high heaton. They are good with old vehicles including my 2cv and my t25 and their charges are reasonable. The owner has a real common sense approach to fixing and mot ing cars, eg if a bulb is blown in a car in for MOT he pits a new one in and charges 20p rather than failing it. Definately recommended.
