oil buzzer

Post by lisajs31 »

Hi Wondering if anyone can give me some advice, I am new to this forum and we are having an issue with our t25, we were due to go away to a show but the engine started making a tapping noise and then the oil pressure warning started buzzing and the pressure gauge is showing no pressure, I would really appreciate some advice as I am new to the north east and unsure who to trust(don't want to be ripped off)
Thanks

You have checked that you have enough oil in it havn't you? if there is not enough oil it will drain from the tappets making them rattle. Don't ask me how I know!

which engine
what's the recent service history ?
the fact that it has an oil pressure gauge means probably that previously it's had problems with oil pressure or with the dynamic oil pressure circuit - if the buzzer of doom circuit is giving a false warning then the gauge can give reassurance, but yours isn't
really you need to have the oil pressure checked using a wet gauge
also check that correct oil and filter are fitted (ie give it an oil change) and check out the wiring of the bod circuit and the gauge
put up a garage wanted in NE post on general and the locals can advise, but really any competant garage where they are over 40 should be able to diagnose what's going on
