knocking noise form wheel

Post by biker1981 »

Hi its dreaded MOT time,

I fitted some new wheel, and realised when I put the front one on there was slight movement in the wheel, when it was jack'd up and a wobbled the top and bottom..

Does this mean its a roll bar or more likely to be a bearing please?, when I drive and turn right I get a knocking noise. :ok

Sounds like a typical wheel bearing symptom to me.

No idea.
I would start with the easiest one and see if it fixes it.
Maybe need to be changing in pairs.

By the book yes but in practice - not really. I always found I could gently tap them out with a cold chisel, working my way around until they're out then use a large socket or similar to drift the new one in. Not a hard job really.

These bearings are available in kit form - inner bearing / race - outer bearing / race - seal and grease from your local motor factors
Insist on VAG quality Costing £19.99 (Approx)
This is the same quality VW used (obviously) and is what Brickwerks use
