Carburettor weirdness
This piece in the picture is a plastic relay which rotates the choke flap,it broke on my brothers pierburg 2e3 so he replaced the carb with a second hand one for £100, the same thing has happened on the replacement within around four months.
Do you think this is just a coincidence?

That's what I thought.
I just spoke to Gower & Lee and apparently it was a common fault on these carburettors, and the part is not available.
Any ideas where to get one from?

Or carve your own out of a piece of suitable scrap nylon. I presume that it is a nylon part.
Time to make your own I should think!

That would be great if you have Kev. 
Problem with ObG's fix is I don't have a complete one. The other half has dropped into the engine bay and long gone. We had a good look round but to no avail.
I have two perfectly usable carbs now with the Same problem.
