Oh no petrol smell

Post by biker1981 »

New to campers

Ever since I picked mine up 2 weeks ago it smells of petrol, I replaced the fuel filter and some fuel pipe. Doesn't seem to be any leaks

Ie looked at wiki but can't see what to check.... I have read about breathers... Where what are these and how do I check them please

The fuel tank looks relatively new,

Any help appreciated

You could start by having a look at this:

Did you replace ALL the fuel pipes? there are a few of em, i recently changed all mine after spotting a fuel leak on my drive, changed em all, the one feeding the carbs and return pipes, fuel pump pipes, etc dont leave any to chance.
Check the wiki section for info on fuel pipe changing, there are breather pipes on the tank (iirc) which may have become blocked or eroded over time, mine sorta smells of petrol but its more like dirt n old oil spill vapourising with heat, could be the filler neck etc, be meticulous with the checking. :D
