I had some dodgy starting recently and decided to change the glow plugs - when I took them out I noticed that the holes in the busbar had broken open and were giving poor contact. I replaced the bar with one from an old spare head and it now starts on the button...

Got the wagon going again with help from AA

Kit you were right - dirty fuel filter

Might change the glowies though
