Fitting isofix hooks

Post by timski »

Hi Guys,

Has anyone ever fitted ISOFIX hooks for the rear seat? Or considered having them fitted so you could then use an isofix base for fitting a child seat? Is that something a competent welder could weld to the bulkhead? Or is that out of the question.

Thanks,
Tim.

My brother has ISO fix in his split, he used a pair of mountings bought from ford iirc, and welded them into the frame of the seat. It wasn't the hardest of jobs to do, ill try and get you some pictures.

I was thinking about this. I retro fitted one in our Passat but it had the lugs already in. You would just have to make sure it was close enough for the clamps to reach.

That would be good Bigjcc55. Would give us an idea of how it could be done.

I will have a chat with the welder I used before to replace the C-strut to see what he thinks. It'll probably mean stripping out most of the interior again  Might not be for a while though as I'm trying to do a house move at the moment ;-)
